Lang tang… “The living earth”
We embark on our amazing 12-day Lang tang Valley Trek that takes you to the famous Lang tang region with the exploration of Tserko Ri (5000m. The attraction of the Lang tang region is that it’s so close to Kathmandu and yet it is as wild as any Tibetan highlands. Lang tang region is also famous for its Gosaikunda Lakes and Helambu. Moreover, the company of green rhododendron and bamboo forests, majestic waterfalls, and snow-capped Himalayas make the trek one of most diverse treks in Nepal.
Our adventure starts with a day’s bus/Jeep ride from Kathmandu to Syabrubesi
According to legend, the Lang tang valley was discovered by a Lama following runway Yak, hence the name “Lang” is Yak for Tibetan and “Tang” means to follow. Lang tang is a narrow valley, that lies just south of Tibet boarder, sandwiched between main Himalayan range to the northern and a slightly lower range of snow clad peaks to the south. People of Tibetan origin, who practice Buddhism, habituate in this high and isolated region.
Day 01: Arrival Kathmandu air port- transfer to the hotel. Welcome Drink
Day 02: Kathmandu- Trek preparation & Free Time
Day 03: Drive to Shyabru besi (1550m ) via Dhunchhe ( 2030m. ) :145km/ 7-8hrs
Day 04: Trek to Lama Hotel ( 2380m,) : 5/6 hours
Day 05: Trek to Langtang village ( 3410m. ) : 5/6 hours
Day 06: Trek to Kyanjing Gompa (3870m.). : 2/3 hours
Day 07: Explore Tserko Ri ( 5000m): 7 hrs
Day 08: Kyanjin Gompa to Lama Hotel (2470m.): 4-5 hrs
Day 09: Lama Hotel to Syabrubeshi: 5-6hrs
Day 10: Drive to Kathmandu and Farewell Dinner
Day 11: Final departure
