Pokhara City Tour 

The 9 points City Tour in Pokhara is a regular sightseeing trip to witness some of the attractive natural and cultural sightseeing spots inside Pokhara Valley. We will witness famous Lakes, Caves, Temples, Monastery, River Gorge and Waterfall with the unique blend of cultural practices and lifestyle during the trip. The 9 points are – Bindabasini Temple, Bat cave, Mahendra cave, Seti Gorge, Begnas Lake, David’s fall, Gupteshor Gufa, Barahi temple and Phewa Lake.

These sites are amazing with various interesting facts that we will get to know about them during the trip. To complete the whole trip it takes about 8 hours and we can take private vehicle throughout the trip or join with the group in. We can also choose to add or remove the places that we are willing to visit during the day.

Trip Itinerary

  • Meet with the guide. Start the trip with less than half an hour drive to Bindabasini temple. Explore the temple and its premises with the views of Annapurna ranges and the valley.
  • Drive and Explore Bat Cave and Mahendra Cave.
  • Drive and Explore the Seti gorge at KI Sing Bridge.
  • Drive half an hour to Begnas Lake, located outskirt of Pokhara City. After exploration, we can have lunch in Begnas Lake.
  • Drive half an hour to David’s fall.
  • Walk to Gupteshor Cave and explore it.
  • Drive to Phewa Lake and Barahi temple. Visit Barahi Temple and enjoy boating on PhewaLake.
  • Returned to Hotel.

Bindabasini Temple

Pokhara is a popular destination in Nepal, filled with many fascinating sights for tourists to investigate. One of the most popular and most visited of these is the intriguing BindabasiniTemple, known locally as Bindhyabasini Mandir. Standing proudly atop a hill, this striking temple looks calmly over the bustling city of Pokhara.

The white pagoda-styled building of the Bindabasini Temple quietly sits at some 3000 feet above sea level along the renowned Annapurna and Machhpuchhare mountain ranges. It is located near the busy Old Bazaar of Pokhara, a center of commerce in the Himalayas.

The ornate structure of Bindabasini Temple is surrounded by a park-like landscape. Spectacular views can be absorbed from this marvelous vantage point which looks out over the town of Pokhara and takes in some of the impressive Himalayas. A visit to Bindabasini Temple can be combined with a stroll through the Old Bazaar.

Bats’ Cave

This cave is filled with bats located 9 km north east of lakeside Pokhara. Exploring this popular cave is an adventure. The path goes through uneven and slippery rock surface with water dripping from the ceiling. The cave is about 135 meter long with an average height of six meters. One end of the cave is a small narrow hole. In the middle of cavern one can see hundreds of bats hanging from the ceiling. Locating the exit of the dark cave is indeed an adventurous task. This cave is not one for those who have claustrophobia or don’t feel courageous enough.  

Mahendra Cave

Mahendra Cave is a large limestone cave famous for its stalactites and stalagmites which is a rare example of a cave system in Nepal. The length of the cave is 215 meters and stretches over 50 ropanies of land. The width of the entrance is 16 meters where as its average width is about 3.5 meters.

Mahendra Cave is a cave located in 9 km to the north east of Lakeside Pokhara close to the Kali khola; this show cave attracts thousands of tourists every year. A statue of Hindu lord Shiva can be found inside the cave. The cave is full of limestone which continuous falls down to the ground with water making the Mahendra caves a beautiful place for spending time and observing the natural structure and ancient natural beauties.

Seti gorge

Seti gorge is a 7 kilometer – long marvel in Pokhara that begins at KI Sing Bridge and meanders all the way to Dhungesanghu with openings of Tulsighat and Ramghat.The snow- fed Seti River burrows deep into the limestone earth-bed, carving a narrow gorge hundreds of feet deep through the heart of Pokhara. Its roar can be heard and foaming water seen from several bridges.

Begnas Lake

Begnas Lake is a quiet fresh water lake that changes color depending on the season situated about 20 km south – east of Pokhara at an elevation of 650m. from the sea level. It is the second largest of the eight lakes in Pokhara valley with a maximum depth of 10 meters and it is one of the famous tourist places in Pokhara. The Water level fluctuates seasonally due to rain, and use for irrigation.

The area around Begnas Lake, with a number of resorts, is a popular destination for tourists visiting Pokhara. Boating, fishing and swimming are some of the activities you can indulge in, the bonus being surrounding green mountains. The water from the lake is used for irrigation and some parts of the lake are used as caged fisheries.

David’s fall

David’s fall is a fascinating waterfall located 2 km southwest of Lakeside on the Siddhartha High way. The water overflowing Phewa Lake, which drops into a cavernous gorge, forms the fall. The water reappears a kilometer south and merges with a rivulet called Phurse Khola. The cavern is about 10 meters across and 16 meters deep. The swirl of water generates lovely rainbows that flicker against the water vapor before disappearing in to the earth.

The local name for the waterfall is Patale Chhango, but it is better known as Davi’s fall following the tragic death of a Swiss lady who slipped into the cavern while she was enjoying bath just above the waterfall. Since then the waterfall is named as David’s fall. The waterfall looks stunning and is a center of attraction to many tourists visiting Pokhara.

Gupteshwor Cave

Gupteshor Cave is a mysterious cave that lies about 3 km south west of Lakeside Pokhara near the stunning David’s fall. The cave is mysterious in the sense it preserves a phallic form of Lord Shiva called Shivalinga. It holds a high value amongst the Hindu pilgrims. As the Shivalinga lie in the cave, it is popularly known as Gupteshwor temple and the cave is known as GupteshworGupha. Many Hindu pilgrims around the world visit this place with high importance.

Barahi Temple

The Barahi Temple is located on an island in Phewa lake Pokhara. Set in stunning surroundings, many find Barahi Temple a peaceful place to relax, especially after canoeing or boating across the glistening waters of Phewa Lake and are certainly a must for anyone touring Pokhara.

This temple also known as Lake Temple or Tal Barahi Temple is a two-story pagoda styled Hindu temple of the Goddess Durga (Barahi), the protector of gods. Besides the everyday Puja, there are major celebrations during Dashai festival that usually falls in the month of October.

Fewa Lake

Fewa Lake lies in the south of Pokhara valley and has border with Rani Ban. The altitude of the lake is 742m and covers 5.23 square kilo meters. of area. The depth of water is approximately 24 meter and the lake also is the home for many species of water creatures which attracts the people to see them.

A courtesy name that comes in to our mind as we remember the picturesque Pokhara city is the beautiful Fewa Lake. Adorned with colorful boats, coffee shops and shops stalled with books and accessories; Fewa Lake is an attractive and pleasing place to spend the time in. The beautiful views of Annapurna massif on a clear day and the glimpse of Mt. Fishtail in the undisturbed water of the lake make the lakeside truly fascinating. We can enjoy boating on the Fewa Lake and visit a temple placed in between the lake known as Barahi temple.
