Trip Overview

Pumdikot is a hill station, located at 1500 m. in the south west of Pokhara thatoffers an unobstructed majestic view of Dhaulagiri, Annapurna and ManasluHimalayan ranges and the beautiful Pokhara valley along with the Phewa Lake.Besides these, the Nepal’s tallest idol of Lord Shiva and the biggest Damaru in Asia are the additional attractions of Pumdikot that makes this place in must go destination in Nepal.

The height of the Shiva Statue in Pumdikot is 108 feet tall and the statue itself is 51 feet. There are 108 Shiva Linga around the statue in the temple. Besides the religious perspective, a large number of domestic travelers used to travel to enjoy the beauty of nature.

The hike to Pumdikot is an easy walk through small settlement, ridges and the green forest that connects with World Peace pagoda and ends either at the Phewa Lake or David’s fall. This is a perfect, easy and short hiking trip with multiple attractions and interests.

Trip Itinerary

  1. Start after an early morning breakfast with half an hour scenic drive to Thulibidi  from Pokhara on the Siddhartha Highway.
  2. Hike an hour to Pumdikot Shiva Temple through small settlement and the farm lands or continue driving to make short hiking and avoid the uphill climb from Thulibidi. Upon reaching at the top we will witness the panoramic view of Annapurna Range and the Pokhara valley. Explore the Lord Shiva Temple and its premises.
  3. Walk slowly on ridge line towards World Peace Pagoda witnessing the beautiful views of mountains, Pokhara Valleys, Phewa Lake and the green hills. Pay a visit to Shanti Stupa and explore its premises.
  4. After the visit of Shanti Stupa, walk down an hour to Phewa Lake and take a boat to cross the Lake or Hike down more than an hour to David’s fall – the famous water fall in the city. And relish the magnificent views of the water fall. If interested, we can also explore the Gupteshore Cave which is located nearby.
  5. Drive for 15 minutes from David’s fall to your hotel at Lakeside Pokhara.
