Ruby Valley Trek
Ruby Valley is one of the most popular and relatively new trekking routes of Nepal.Located to the west of Langtang National Park.It is one of the most isolated and least explored areas in Nepal’s Himalayas.This region offers untouched natural splendor,wild and friendly inhabitations and beautiful Himalaya ranges. During the trek, we observe the different ways of life and the culture .Only a few foreigners have explored the area in recent years. The culture is rich and lifestyle has not changed yet.
Ruby Valley Trek starts from Kathmandu after a 7 hour scenic drive to Syabrubesi (1503m.) and trek ascent to beautiful Gatlang (2,337m) via Chawatar. Similarly, exploring the Tamang culture & lifestyle, trek leads along suspension bridges and lush green forests with sacred Lake. After leaving the Somdang (3,271m) village goes to Pangsang Pass (3,842m), then enjoy the wonderful Himalayan view, green meadow, rhododendron forest, rocky hills, and waterfalls. And trek explores the delightful Chalish and Khadhing where you get to see traditional culture and warm hospitality.
Finally, we follow a downhill route towards Jharlang Phedi with good views of surrounding natural wonders and Ankhu Khola towards Darkha Gaon. From here an easy downhill walk of about 45 minutes will lead us to Darkha Phedi from where we take a scenic drive over the bumpy zigzag hilly road towards Dhading Besi. Our memorable and wonderful Ruby Valley Trek Nepal with Sine Rover ends with a scenic drive from Dhading Besi back to Kathmandu.

Trek itinerary
Day 01. Drive from Kathmandu (1,350 m) to Syabru Besi (1,450 m): (7-8 Hrs.)
We start our journey early in the morning and drive from Kathmandu to Syabru Besi by bus which takes about 7 to 8 hour drive. We head north out of Kathmandu driving through scenic foothills and ridgeline vistas to Syabru Besi passing through Dhunche. While passing along the road on the bank of Trishuli River we catch a glimpse of Ganesh Himal, terraces and green hills. As we pass through Dhunche we feel as if we are heading towards deep land.
Please note that the first part of our drive up to Trishuli Bazaar is quite smooth. The path then moves along the gravel road. During the rainy season, the way is sometime blocked due to landslides. Overnight in Syabrubesi.

Day 02. Trek from Syabrubesi to Gatlang (2,340 m): (5-6 Hrs.)
The trek start from Syabrubesi following the trail that leads through the new valley road to Chilime Khola valley. From there we will turn left and head west on a good trail towards Thambuchet and continue trekking until we arrive at Gatlang. Overnight in a lodge/tea house.

Day 03. Trek from Gatlang to Somdang (3,280 m): (6-7 Hrs.)
From Gatlang, we will follow a broad trail that leads to Parvati Kunda from where we will trek through a forest filled with pine and rhododendron trees before climbing up to Khurpu Dada Pass at 3710 meters. And then we will turn west and descend all the way down to Somdang. Overnight in a lodge/tea house.

Day 04. Trek from Somdang to Tipling (2,080m.) via Pasang La Pass (3,842m): (6-7 Hrs.)
The trail from Somdang climbs up through dense forest before traversing above a large kharka that heads towards Pasang La Pass at 3,842 meters where locals have built a small Gompa. From the top, we will gradually descend through terraced fields of Lawadun or the village of Tipling. There are few tea houses and good camping sites in Tipling. Overnight in a lodge.

Day 05. Trek from Tipling to Shertung (1,875 m): (5-6 Hrs.)
From Tipling we will descend to cross over Adha River and start to climb towards the village of Shertung. During the trek today we will have the opportunity to look at the fertile river valleys. Shertung is a small village inhabited mainly by Tamang. From here good views of Lapsang Karpo and Ganesh Himal range can be seen. Overnight in a lodge.

Day 06. Visit Tatopani Hot Springs & Trek to Chalish Gaon (1,640 m): (4-5 Hrs.)
We will trek for about 30 minutes to reach Chalish Gaon. Here we will leave our stuff and take a walk to reach Tatopani (2 hour) which means hot water/spring. Enjoy your day at the hygienic hot spring in one of the best hot spring in this region. We will return to Chalish Gaon for the overnight stay. Overnight in a lodge.

Day 07. Trek from Chalish to Jharlang (3,020 m): (5-6 Hrs.)
We continue the hiking from Chalish Gaun following the trail that passes through Mani Danda from where we can see the great views of Ganesh Himal Range. Our further trek passes through Deul danda, Gobre village, Chhap danda and Bhandari Bhir. Rock climbing has gained more popularity in recent years around this area. We will continue to trek following the trail that passes through Lishne jungle and Chhapchyat village and arrives at Jharlang. Overnight in a lodge.

Day 08. Trek from Jharlang to Darkha Gaon (850m): (6-7 Hrs.)
From Jharlang, we will gradually descend down to Jharlang Phedi passing along terraced fields with stunning landscapes. Crossing over several suspension bridges we continue on the trail that leads to Darkha Gaon. People from different tribe communities reside in this village. overnight in a lodge.

Day 09. Trek from Darkha Gaon to Darkha Phedi (1,349m): (1 Hr.) and Drive to Kathmandu (1,300 m): (7-8 Hrs.)
The trail from Darkha Gaun descends all the way down to Darkha Phedi from where we will take a local jeep and drive over the zigzag bumpy roads to Dhading Besi. During our drive from Darkha Phedi, we will pass along villages of Kimtang Phedi, Katunje and Jyamrung. After arriving at Dhading Besi we will take another drive back to Kathmandu (7-8hrs.) Upon arrival in Kathmandu, we check in at our hotel. We can spend the evening leisurely or catch up on some last minute shopping.

To celebrate the successful completion of our journey, we will have farewell dinner and share the experiences about our trek.
