Shanti Stupa also known as Pokhara Peace Pagoda is a stunning monument situated at 1115meters on the Anadu Hill overlooking the mesmerizing PhewaLake with the charming Annapurna Mountain range in the backdrop. It is a popular tourist attraction and a striking landmark or a pleasant pit stop for the intrepid climbers.
The surroundings have several trekking trails to cross to Phewa Lake and explore the Himalayas. One can either cycle through one of the tracks that lead to the top of the hill, take the road to the Stupa or enjoy a drive through the scenic location. The picturesque beauty is quite captivating, and the tranquil vibe of the monument is worth a visit for those seeking it.
On the hill top enjoy tranquil environment facing outmost views of Annapurna, Dhaulagiri, and Manaslu with Machhapuchare Himal / Fish Tail peak with whole of Pokhara valley and the city with serene Fewa Lake. A drive distance is about 9 km. It was opened to the public in 1999 after construction was completed. Shanti Stupa was the first peace pagoda built in Nepal. The pagoda is 115 feet (35m) tall and 344 feet (105m) in diameter.

Trip Itinerary:
- Start early morning walk to Phewa Lake shore and take boat ride for 20 minute to cross the Phewa Lake. Reach other side of the lake, the starting point of Shanti Stupa hiking.
- Walk uphill gently through forest and small settlements into cool shade of tree lines for an hour keeping behind the Lakeside and the Phewa lake. Upon reaching at the top we will witness the panoramic view of Annapurna Range and the Pokhara valley. Explore the surrounding and engage in photography.
- Enjoy breakfast with the magnificent views right from your table near by the restaurant.
- Hike down more than an hour to David’s Fall – the famous water fall in the city.And relish the magnificient views of the water fall. If interested , we can explore the Gupteshore Cave which is located near by.
- Walk another hour or take a short drive for 15 minutes to your hotel at Lakeside.
